Located on the bank of Uhl river Barot is favourite hill resort in Mandi district about 60 km from Mandi. Anglers from home and abroad enjoy trout fishing found in abundance in the Uhl. Barot is also connected by a rope-way trolley from Jogindernagar. The rope-way trolley crawls up to the height of 8000 ft in two stages and after that down-hill journey starts in the trolley for Barot again in two stages
